A Toast to Terroir: Leonardslee’s Award-Winning Sparkling Wines of 2025

Leonardslee Family Vineyards continues to make its mark on the world of fine wine, with three standout releases from our English Sparkling collection earning top accolades in 2025. Each bottle is a testament to the rich Sussex terroir, meticulous craftsmanship, and a vision of excellence that defines our winemaking philosophy.

Leonardslee Brut Reserve, 2021

Leonardslee Brut Reserve 2021

Crafted from a refined blend of 70% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Meunier, the 2021 Brut Reserve is a vibrant reflection of our vineyard’s unique chalky soils and cool-climate conditions.

Awarded an impressive 94 points at the International Wine Challenge 2025, this vintage is praised for its “yellow citrus notes with a balanced, yet delicate wet stone minerality complemented by attractive creamy hints.” It’s a wine that speaks of precision and purity, ideal for celebrations or quiet moments of indulgence.

Leonardslee Brut Rosé, 2021

Our 2021 Brut Rosé is not your average English pink fizz. A delicate, pale rosé with a distinctive character, it blends 56% Chardonnay, 31% Pinot Noir, 3% Pinot Meunier, and a unique 10% Pinotage, a nod to our South African heritage and a rare find in English sparkling wines.

Scoring 90 points at the International Wine Challenge 2025, the judges described it as: “Bright and fresh, light autolysis worked well, great energy with great citrus and good typicity.” It’s a wine that offers both elegance and intrigue, perfect for alfresco dining or a summer celebration.

Lastly, the 2020 Blanc de Blancs is a shining example of 100% Chardonnay from our Leonardslee estate. This wine captures the crisp vibrancy and mineral backbone that make English sparkling wines world-class.

With 90 points awarded by the International Wine and Spirits Competition 2025, it was praised for its “bright lemon attraction on nose and palate with a hint of cream. Great balance between freshness and fruit. Satisfying finish.”
